CompTIA Security+ Training Course
The CompTIA Security+ course is fundamental for a security-based IT career. Information security is necessary for protecting computer data, assets, and networks from malicious threats. Being able to identify issues and offer recommendations for solutions in security is a key ability needed by those seeking out IT roles specializing in cybersecurity. Outside of simply identifying problems, being able to architect and design mechanisms for cybersecurity is also a highly in-demand skill set. All of this is learned in the training provided in the Security+ course.
In this course, students learn how to install and configure systems to secure applications, networks, and devices; perform threat analysis and respond with appropriate mitigation techniques; participate in risk mitigation activities; and operate with an awareness of applicable policies, laws, and regulations.
Completion of this course certifies that you are knowledgeable and experienced in information security. It establishes the core knowledge necessary for a wide variety of cyber security roles.
Security+ certification is dependent upon your ability to pass a 90 minute exam with a minimum score of 750 (on a scale of 100-900). Your certification expires three years from the date you earn it and must be renewed before the expiration date in order to stay valid.
No prerequisites are required, but it is highly recommended that those interested take CompTIA A+ and Network+ before this course.
