Minimum of one year of cumulative paid work experience in one or more of the seven domains of the SSCP Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) or a degree (bachelors or masters) in cybersecurity, computer science, computer engineering, computer systems engineering, management information systems (MIS) or information technology (IT). The SSCP CBK domains are as follows:
The exam for SSCP is 3 hours in length and a score of 700 out of 1000 is required in order to pass. The certificate expires after three years but is eligible for renewal.
SSCP often serves as a precursor to the CISSP certification, allowing employees to demonstrate capability in systems security before they are prepared to tackle the more advanced skills needed for CISSP.
SSCP is approved by the US DoD to meet directive 8140/8570.01-M requirements.
