In order to obtain the PenTest+ certification, you must pass a 165 minute exam with a minimum score of 750 (on a scale of 100-900). This certification expires three years from the date of the examination and must be renewed before the expiration date in order to stay valid. The certification is designed to verify that successful candidates have the knowledge and skills required to plan and scope an assessment, understand legal and compliance requirements, perform vulnerability scanning and penetration testing, analyze data, and effectively report and communicate results. The exam is comprised of multiple choice and performance-based questions.
CompTIA recommends candidates complete Network+, Security+ or have equivalent knowledge before taking this exam, as well as 3-4 years of hands-on information security or related experience.
PenTest+ is compliant with ISO 17024 standard.
